Last one for this school year :o(
A Peek at the Week: This week was hot to start off with and cool by the end. It was certainly a different week without Mrs. Maruschock. Children kept busy with all their favorite centers along with a center for Get Well cards for Mrs. Maruschock. We are grateful to “Mrs. M” for filling in and spending time with us. The children brought home their Father’s Day project so we hope they were found in the backpacks for Sunday.
PT Group: The AM class had group in our classroom playing the fun game of Duck Duck Goose. The PM class had group outside on the playscape this week which they really enjoyed!
Looking Ahead: We will be sending home a bag filled with some leftover items for the children including some school work for the summer. Additional summer suggestions: rapid naming letters, shape/color flash cards and name tracing for proper letter formation.
We will be having a treat on the last day of school. The room parents have already made the arrangements, so there is nothing more that needs to be done. Speaking of room parents… a very big THANK YOU for making our school year extra special. And also thanks to the Savinelli Family for taking care of our frogs this summer!
Reminders:
Next week the morning class will meet on June 20, 21, and 22nd. Wednesday June 22nd is the last day of school for AM session. The afternoon class will be meeting on June 20 and 21. Tuesday June 21st is the last day of school for PM session.
Writing names: Is your child practicing writing his/her name at home? If so, remember to remind him/her to use upper case letters for the first letter, then lower case for the rest of the name.
Birthday news: We want to wish Ryan and Stephanie a very Happy Birthday!
Happy Father’s Day to all the special men in our children’s life.

Morning and Afternoon Edition June 10, 2005
A Peek at the Week: This week was a hot, busy one. We continue to work on the rapid naming of letters and numbers, along with color and shape review. We’ve been talking about Fathers, grandfathers, and other significant men in our lives. The children have been working hard on a Father’s Day project.
Centers this week included: Drawing on the chalkboard, Look What I Can Do Center, Father’s Day project, shelf toys, kitchen, blocks, paper fun and coloring.
PT Group: In the spirit of summer time, the kids played with beach balls this week in PT group. They practiced hitting them up in the air, and then hitting them back and forth with a partner.
Looking Ahead: For our last week and half…we’ll be talking about Father’s Day, and summer fun!
We will be having a treat on the last day of school. The room parents have already made the arrangements, so there is nothing more that needs to be done at this time. Thanks to those of you who have been offering to help…we are all set.
Reminders:
Next week both sessions meet as normal…then…
The morning class will be meeting on June 20, 21, and 22nd.
Wednesday June 22nd is the last day of school for AM session.
The afternoon class will be meeting on June 20 and 21.
Tuesday June 21st is the last day of school for PM session.
A VERY HELPFUL reminder/request: Thanks for your help with the no cupcake rule!
Playground news: Now that the weather is nice, we will be going outside most days. Please send your child in “playground friendly” clothes that can get dirty. Also, sneakers are the best shoe choice to prevent accidents, no open toed shoes please.
Writing names: Is your child practicing writing his/her name at home? If so, remember to remind him/her to use upper case letters for the first letter, then lower case for the rest of the name. Be sure they are forming the letters according to the recommended way. This will make things easier as they enter Kindergarten.
Birthday news: We want to wish Jennifer a very Happy Birthday!
Have a nice weekend!

A Peek at the Week: This week became a mix of topics…we continued some transportation fun, combined with some of our favorite activities. Over the weekend the butterflies came out of their chrysalis, so we observed the butterflies this week. We plan on releasing the Painted Lady Butterflies today.
Field day was LOTS of fun…the children really enjoyed the variety of activities. We had a beanbag toss into large shapes, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, nerf baseball and tennis, a mouse/cat beanbag toss, along with playground activities. We had a picnic snack outside, which was a lot of fun!
Centers this week included: Some of our favorite centers included: painting on the easel, water color painting, Mr. Potato Head building, a road made from tape on the rug for the vehicles, Look What I Can Do, and kitchen center.
PT Group: The children practiced with balls and plastic tennis rackets this week in PT group. Everyone worked hard and had fun with this.
Looking Ahead: In June we’ll be learning about ordering words, Father’s Day, and summer fun.
